A proper look at your hearing

A proper look at your hearing

A full diagnostic assessment, carried out in a soundproof booth by an expert clinician using the same equipment you’d find in a hospital audiology department.

Not a checklist. A real understanding of what’s going on.

Before you come in

Nothing to prepare, but it helps to think about your hearing story before you arrive. When you first noticed something had changed. Where it bothers you most. Any history of loud noise exposure, at work, in music, anywhere else.

The more we know, the more useful the appointment becomes.

Before you come in

When you arrive

You’ll be welcomed by name. Coffee, properly made. A brownie if you’d like one. Fresh flowers on the desk, work from a local artist on the walls. It’s quiet, it’s calm, and it doesn’t feel rushed.

Your audiologist will introduce themselves and bring you through when you’re ready.

The assessment

A proper conversation first about what’s brought you in. Then the diagnostic work itself.

Video otoscopy to look inside your ears. Tympanometry to check how your eardrum is moving. Pure-tone audiometry across the full range of frequencies. Speech-in-noise testing, because that’s where real-life difficulty sits.

Painless. Thorough. Around an hour and a quarter.

What happens next

We’ll explain what we’ve found in plain English. What kind of hearing loss, if any. What’s causing it. What your options are.

If hearing technology would help, we’ll talk you through what suits your hearing and your life. If we don’t think you’ll wear it, we won’t fit it.

You’ll leave knowing exactly where you stand. We’ll follow up to make sure everything’s settled, and we’ll be here for whatever comes next.
