We provide audiometric testing, medicolegal reports and expert witness services to solicitors, case handlers and medicolegal agencies across Scotland. We accept both claimant and defendant instructions.
We take instructions through legal firms and medicolegal agencies only. If you are a member of the public pursuing a claim, please speak to your solicitor.
Every clinic has a calibrated, sound-treated booth. We carry out full air and bone conduction audiograms with masking, following BSA recommended procedures. Tympanometry is available at Livingston, Clarkston and Dumfries.
If wax prevents testing, we remove it on the day and record video otoscopy evidence. The appointment isn’t wasted and the claimant doesn’t need to come back.
We have provided medicolegal reports to solicitors and case handlers since 2020, for both claimant and defendant instructions. Our reports are detailed, evidence-based and written to the requirements of the Scottish courts. Expert CVs are available on request.
Our audiologists have been cited as expert witnesses in multiple cases. Where a case has proceeded to court, Frazer has appeared to give evidence.
Every one of our audiologists carries out medicolegal audiograms, so testing capacity isn’t limited to our named experts.
Frazer has led our medicolegal work since 2020 and is our most experienced expert witness, with court appearance experience. Frazer believes hearing loss should never be a barrier. Not to work, not to conversations with the people you love, not to any part of life.
Peter is our Vestibular Audiologist and leads post-accident balance and dizziness assessment and
rehabilitation.
Che leads our Lenire treatment and medicolegal tinnitus work.
We assess tinnitus through a staged pathway: assessment, report, device or masker trial, review, then treatment. Each stage is documented, so the claim file shows exactly what was done and why.
We provide Lenire bimodal neuromodulation as a prescribed treatment for medicolegal cases, one of very few providers in Scotland to do so. Lenire is a one-off treatment cost. Devices, by contrast, are replaced every few years across a claimant’s lifetime. Che leads this work, and all tinnitus assessment and Lenire treatment takes place at our Livingston clinic.
Where an ENT expert requests it, Peter assesses post-accident balance and dizziness and delivers
Where hearing technology forms part of a claim, we provide costed recommendations specific to the claimant’s loss. Warranty and lifetime aftercare are included in the costing, so the figure you take into quantum is complete.
Livingston is our medicolegal hub, where the full range of services is available. Medicolegal audiograms are available at all our clinics: Livingston, Clarkston, Broughty Ferry, Dumfries at the Crichton, and Morningside in Edinburgh. Hearing device assessments take place at Livingston and Dumfries. Tinnitus assessment, Lenire treatment and vestibular services take place at Livingston only.
We see referrals through the week at all clinics, and can arrange block clinics for higher volumes. To discuss capacity and lead times, email us.
