Our director and clinical audiologist, Iain, has extensive experience in tinnitus clinics, having spent five out of his eight years of service at the NHS working in them.
During this time, he was involved with the NHS GGC tinnitus advisory group (STAG). STAG works towards promoting evidence-based good practice across all Scottish tinnitus clinics. This experience has given Iain a deep understanding of tinnitus and the best practices for managing its symptoms.
At Almond Hearing, we offer tinnitus assessments to accurately assess your symptoms and provide personalised solutions to help manage them. Our assessments are conducted by qualified audiologists who use the latest equipment and techniques to evaluate your tinnitus and hearing abilities. We start by examining your ears to make sure that there is no wax blocking them and that they appear healthy. We then perform a full hearing assessment and discuss what the tinnitus sounds like, when it happens, and if anything has triggered it.
Following the assessment, we will recommend the best course of action based on your individual needs.
At Almond Hearing, we understand that sometimes simply talking about tinnitus and being reassured that there is nothing to worry about can help to reduce tinnitus perception. In the minority of cases, we may recommend that you be seen by an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor, and if this is the case, we will write to your GP.
While there is no cure for tinnitus, our treatments can help manage the symptoms and improve your quality of life. At Almond Hearing, we are dedicated to providing you with personalised care and support to help you live your life to the fullest, and Iain’s experience and expertise in tinnitus clinics ensures that you receive the highest quality of care.
